Schola Cantus Angelorum

A Women’s Latin Schola Dedicated to the Sacred Tradition of Gregorian Chant

About Us
Schola Cantus Angelorum (SCA) is a women’s Latin schola directed by Dr. Lynne Bissonnette-Pitre, dedicated to the preservation and advancement of Gregorian chant—the official music of the Latin Rite and one of the Church’s most ancient and revered forms of prayer. Founded during the pontificate of Pope Benedict XVI, SCA was established to honor and support his vision that Gregorian chant and sacred polyphony should once again hold pride of place within the liturgy. For more than two decades, the schola has pursued this mission with fidelity, excellence, and deep devotion to the Church’s sacred heritage.

The Spiritual Power of Gregorian Chant
Schola Cantus Angelorum bears witness to the unique capacity of Gregorian chant to inspire conversion, healing, and interior transformation. The contemplative and reverent nature of the chanted liturgy creates a sacred atmosphere in which the Holy Spirit brings peace to body and soul, fostering a profound love for Jesus Christ and His Eucharistic presence. In the Sung Gregorian Mass, the human voice joins the angelic choir, awakening a deeper awareness of the divine and drawing worshippers into the mystery of God’s presence.

Our Vision
SCA is dedicated to the renewal of the Church and the sanctification of the world through the sacred sung liturgy—restoring beauty, reverence, and transcendence to worship so that all may encounter the living God.
